Hopefully, by answering some common questions ahead of time, we can give you a feel for what you can expect when you visit. We want you to experience biblical music, helpful and convicting teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home." No matter where you are in your spiritual journey—we have a place for you.

We’re more than just a building
Westside Baptist Church is an exciting church with a love for people that comes from our love for God. We know of no place in the world with a more inviting welcome than you will find here. If you’re looking for a relevant message from the Word of God, then you will enjoy WBC! We have clear Bible preaching, a warm friendly atmosphere, and a passion for knowing God.
People from all around the Bay area have found Westside Baptist a place to call home. I sincerely hope you’ll join us this Sunday. You, too, may find that WBC is your “place to call home!”
What Should I Expect?
EXPECT A WARM WELCOME
We love having guests at Westside, so be prepared to be greeted by our church family! You will find our people friendly, welcoming, and ready to do their best to make you feel at home.

EXPECT A HELPFUL MESSAGE
We believe that God’s Word should be at the center of all that we do. The preaching will be straightforward and aimed at the heart…you can be confident that you will leave with something to take home and implement in your life this week!

EXPECT AN INVITATION TO RETURN
This may be your first time coming to Westside, but we certainly hope that it won’t be your last. Don’t be surprised if someone encourages you to come again or invites you to another service. We want you to know that you are welcome to join us any time you are able.
What Kind of Church is WBC?
We are a Bible believing church which means that we believe the Bible to be God's Word. We make no apologies for the Bible. We are Bible believing by conviction and principle.
What are the Services Like?
It depends on where you’re coming from! If you are used to a formal, ritualistic type church then you may think our worship lively. If you are used to the modern contemporary, Christian-rock style then you may find us formal.

We still like to sing the old hymns our grandparents used to sing because there is so much doctrine in those anointed songs. The old red hymnal is used every service. During the service we may have a group, a soloist, of the church choir provide special music: we don’t have rock bands, or drums but we do have some godly people who have been blessed with tremendous talent.

The main focus of each service is the preaching of God’s Word. Our pastor or a guest speaker will give a Bible message that addresses the problems of life. We believe the Bible has the answer to every problem and the power to comfort, correct, or instruct every need.
What About My Children?
We are a Family church! We believe families should attend church together. This means all children are welcome in our services. In fact, you will see babies and children in all our services. If you need some privacy or if you have a child that is being distracting during the service, we have a Parent/Baby Room available for your convenience. All the rooms have seating, and they have monitors set up so that you can watch the service and listen to it.
What Should I Wear?
There is not a dress code at Westside Baptist Church for our guests. We do believe that church is important enough to wear your best, so our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress.
Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. Though you are welcome to participate if you would like to, we don’t invite you to Westside Baptist Church for your offering. We simply want to be a blessing to you and hope that you will find Westside to be a place where you can develop a deep and personal relationship with God in a warm family atmosphere.
